Definition:
An explosion & Flameproof motor, EEx-d series, is rotating machine which can work in an ambience with the presence of gases & or exploding or inflammable fumes without anything unsuitable happening in the case of damage to the motor.

In Fact it is defined as: An Explosionproof motor: its shell neither cracks nor explodes incase of inside short circuit. A flameproof motor: it will prevent burnt gases or flames from coming out of the lamination joints with critical temperature for the external ambience.
FIT TO BE USED IN AREA CLASS C ZONE 1 AND ZONE 2.

Explosion Groups
Euromotori motor have been certified for explosion groups IIA, IIB ( Some IIC) . The Cenelec rules EN 50014 and CEI 31-8 issue 459, state for each explosion group the type of gases and vapours included.

Temperature class
Euromotori motors are certified for the temperature classes T3-T4-T5 ( some T6) . The Cenelec rules fix the correlation between temperature class and maximum motor surface temperature.
